Impact Arts have a new programme for parents in North Lanarkshire starting this week in Motherwell.
The programme is called Impactful Parents and is a fun, non-traditional stage 1-2 employability programme for unemployed parents in North Lanarkshire.
The programme embeds creativity in all planned activities, with an emphasis on using visual arts to improve parents’ confidence and to enable them to gain transferrable core skills and enhance personal development.
The participants will also benefit from tailored activities that focus on preparing them for the world of work, including interview preparation, job research and team building tasks.
Health and wellbeing is also a key focus of this programme, with regular scheduled wellbeing activities.
To be able to join in participants are required to meet one of the following criteria:
- Parents who live in North Lanarkshire (can be any age, up to 67 years) who are experiencing barriers to employment
- Lone Parents
- Parents with a disability or who have children with a disability
- Parents with 3 or more children
- Parents from a minority ethnic background
- Families with a parent under 25 years old
- Other low-income parents e.g. kinship carers
Programmes started on Tuesday 7th January and run every Tuesday and Thursday at Motherwell Library.
Participants can receive up to £30 per week as a training allowance for attending the programme, plus travel costs can also be reimbursed.
