Children and families in Viewpark have celebrated the official opening of a wonderful new play area on Bairds Avenue.
The park was officially opened on 12th December by Logan from Viewpark Family Centre whose artistic design won the ‘Design-a-Sign’ competition, now proudly featured at the entrance to the park.
The project was developed by the Community Partnership Team, in partnership with local residents and children from Viewpark Family Centre, who provided ideas and suggestions on which play equipment they would like to see installed.
The play area offers a range of exciting opportunities for play, including a large multi-play unit, an accessible roundabout and trampoline, inclusive seesaw, a variety of swings, climbing nets and a very much requested cable way. For adults and families, new picnic benches and various seating options have been established.
Funding of £99,578 came from the Local Development Programme, which is managed by North Lanarkshire Council’s Community Partnership Team.
