THE STREET AKA ‘GIVIT some STREET’

THE STREET AKA ‘GIVIT some STREET’

The Street is back—bigger, bolder, and now reimagined as ‘GIVIT some STREET’ (GSS)! This initiative focuses on early intervention and prevention of alcohol and substance use among young people aged 11–20yrs. It supports individuals engaging in risk-taking behaviours around alcohol or substance use or those impacted by loved ones’ substance use.

Now in its 14th season, The Street delivers powerful, live performances addressing real-life challenges faced by young people today. Aimed at youth groups (ages 14+) with some separate sessions available for parents, carers, and practitioners. The experience will involve:

  • A 20-minute live performance, and
  • A 60-minute interactive workshop based on the themes of the show.

This years performances are hard-hitting, immersive, and educational, tackling critical issues on:

  • Knife Crime
  • Cocaine & ‘Tick’
  • Alcohol & Violence
  • Care Experienced
  • Bullying & Intimidation
  • Vapes & Spice
  • Bribery & Coercion

The Experience

The STREET Experience is the only youth work programme of its kind in the UK, based in an industrial unit in Hamilton. Targeted groups are guided through a dark and immersive virtual “Street” where they encounter realistic scenarios performed by other young people. The situations reflect challenges that visitors may recognise from their lives or communities, offering consequential learning in a memorable and impactful way.

Target Group

Young people aged 14+ who are actively involved in or vulnerable to risk-taking behaviours. We also welcome family groups and practitioners in separate sessions.
