NHS Lanarkshire – Minor Injury Unit for Fast, Expert Care
NHS Lanarkshire’s Minor Injury Units are open for non-life-threatening injuries between 9am and 9pm every day.
People are encouraged to phone 111 before attending a Minor Injury Unit. Those who do will be given priority over those who walk-in – resulting in quicker treatment.
Dr Gordon McNeish, NHS Lanarkshire Associate Medical Director for Unscheduled Care, said: “Our Minor Injury Units provide expert care for a range of minor injuries, including sprains, cuts, minor burns and simple fractures.
“If someone has phoned 111 and been assessed by our Flow Navigation Centre and advised that they should go to Accident & Emergency (A&E), they are currently seen as a priority at all three of our A&E departments.”
The three Minor Injury Units, located at University Hospital Hairmyres, University Hospital Monklands and University Hospital Wishaw, have dedicated areas and expert clinical staff to provide high-quality care.
By attending between 9am and 9pm, people can receive faster treatment and avoid waiting in a busy A&E department.
“If your condition is more serious, A&E remains available for urgent care.”
